Captain of Pakistan’s Women Football team took to the twitter to express her grievance over bleak chances of participation in the upcoming South Asian Football Federation Women Championship.

The captain alleged Faisal Saleh Hayat – Head of Pakistan Football Federation (2nd faction) for withdrewing from the event as the same happened in 2016.

What’s the Issue with Pakistan Football Federation?

Faisal Saleh Hayat has remained Head of Pakistan Football Federation for considerable time period as fresh elections were not conducted during that time. However, in December 2019, fresh elections were conducted as per Supreme Court Ruling where Syed Ashfaq Hussain Shah was elected as its president. However, the issue is that FIFA still recognizes Faisal Saleh Hayat as the “Real Head” and considers fresh elections as “Undue Influence in PFF Matters”.

The incumbent President is unable to garner support from Regional Football Agencies, while it is alleged that Faisal Saleh Hayat is putting every effort to hinder the path of new management. Pakistan is also expected to miss Olympics Qualifiers which is schedule for March 22-26 this year.

In the past, football global body FIFA has threatened to suspend the Pakistan’s membership if Faisal Saleh Hayat is kept away from PFF afairs.
