Online businesses still non-operational in Karachi

The online trading of Businesses/Shops with physical presences, couldn’t get operational till Monday due to procedural requirements asking those businesses interested in selling Online to apply to commissioner Karachi for permission.

Iftikhar Shallwani, Commissioner Karachi, directed business community who are willing to continue their operations online, to get permission from the District administration of Karachi through email. Shopkeepers willing to work online were instructed to file their application along with an undertaking to abide by all the Standard Operating Procedures to email address: [email protected]

Shopkeepers were asked to keep the shutters of the shops down as only online business will be allowed to them.

Due to COVID19 Pandemic, Sindh has been under Complete Lockdown since End of March-2020. This has severely impacted the businesses in the Commercial Hub of the Province. Business Community remains adamant to open businesses while Provincial and City Administrations have been strict in enforcing the lockdown.

After negotiations with Business Community, Shop owners in big markets of Karachi were allowed to sell online with the permission of the City Authority
