The German Development Bank, KfW is expected to give Financial Grant of around 12 million Euros for implementation of Phase-II of Social Health Protection Scheme in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The Country Director of German Development Bank (KfW) to Pakistan Wolfgang Moeller and Pakistan’s Economic Affairs Division Secretary signed the agreement.
Around 9.4 million Euros will go to KPK while 2.6 million Euros will be given to Gilgit-Baltistan for the said scheme.
The Social Health Protection Scheme is being implemented by the Health department of these provinces and covers the cost for hospitalisation at childbirth, common diseases of children, accidents and injuries, basic surgeries and medical treatments for registered person.
Muhammad Hammad Azhar, the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs was also present at the occasion and thanked the German representative for the grant. The Youth Ambassador of the German Embassy, Marion Pfennigs also tweeted on the occasion.
