Foreign Direct Investment declines to $73 million in July

Pakistan’s foreign direct investment (FDI) declined by 59% YoY to $73.4 million in the month of July-2019 as compared to $178 million in July-2018.

The decrease in Foreign Investment is mainly due to Net outflows from Kuwait and China. The Chinese firms withdraw a net amount of $4.5 million while Kuwait withdrew $16.8 million from various businesses of Pakistan in July as compared to Net inflows of $90 million in July-2018.

Major inflows were received from the United States ($17 million) and Malaysia ($15 million).
