The International Cricket Council (ICC) has given accreditation to the biomechanical lab situated at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) as an evaluation centre for bowlers having suspected bowling actions.
With this development, the LUMS biomechanical lab has become Pakistan’s first facility. Only four other such facilities exist in the world one each at Brisbane, Loughborough, Chennai and Pretoria working as evaluation centres for players with suspected Bowling Actions reported by ICC.
The Bio-Mechanical Lab at Lums passed various criteria set by ICC including motion analysis system with 12 high-speed cameras having the ability to produce three-dimensional data.
