Axle Load Policy deferred, CNIC condition for Traders likely to be withrawn

Presiding over a meeting of economic team of the Government in Islamabad on Saturday, the Prime Minister said that the mission of economic team should be the promotion of small business sectors in order to create employment opportunities and to bring the economy to a fast pace.

Premier Imran Khan also instructed Frontier Works Organisation to delay the implementation of axle load condition. The said action was taken to soothe the agitating traders protesting against the government’s move to document the economy.

The Prime Minister also tasked Dr. Hafeez Shaikh and Chairman FBR Shabbar Zaidi to work on a better package for traders in line with the visiting International Monetary Fund (IMF) team. He also asked FBR chairman to hold a meeting with Traders and try to address their concerns.

The agitated Traders have threatened to go on strike on 29th and 39th of October.

As per inside news, FBR Chairman is going to meet the traders on Monday (today) and will offer a better package to alleviate Traders Concern. In this regard, the condition of CNIC for every sale above Rs.50,000 is likely to be waived by Chairman FBR while some lenient Conditions will be laid.
