Mughal Energy to Establish Thermal Power Plant for $137 million

Mughal Energy Limited has applied for approval by National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to obtain power generation license for its 55 MW coal-fired thermal power plant.

The total cost of the project is projected at $137 million. The plant is expected to achieve Commercial Operations Date by 31st March 2021.

The Coal Powered plant will use efficient Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustion (CFBC) Boiler for steam generation. The plant will run on both Local(Thar) and Imported Coal. The Plant’s operational efficiency is projected at 37%.

Mughal Energy intends to sell the generated Electricity to Mughal Iron & Steel and LESCO.
